lyrics

Cut the ropes they say if you wanna sail
Change your clothes they say if you wanna prevail
But beware of the nightbus stranger
He might pull you in his capricious danger

The puppeteer praises his clockworks precision
But logic is ruthless, covered with superstition
So you can’t trace that mystic haze
On its watery track through these meaningless days

I just wanna look into the mirror
And spot my face with decreasing fear
Our mindless time is depraved
And wonderful

These thoughts are like mice in a cozy flat
They appear now and then beneath your bed
You just perceive their invisible rustling
You just cannot fall asleep

The absurdity of a perceptive life
Flits over your eye-lids as you strive
But the sea is so calm and endless
While you nervously brood over your game of chess

The professors and the preacher men sing
In the choir at the feet of an intangible king
But at dusk you still stand in the meadow
And all their promises dissolve into a shadow

I just wanna look into the mirror
And spot my face with decreasing fear
Our mindless time is depraved
And wonderful

The keen sun burns your scars and wounds
You’re torn between thoughts at that lethal noon
You make an arrangement far from acceptance
Then you turn away from the steep

I just wanna look into the mirror
And spot my face with decreasing fear
Our mindless time is depraved
And wonderful
